I met Melissa through Lora, who was Melissa’s maid of honor, which is how I knew Melissa and Brandon would be wonderful to work with. Plus they’re also devoted dog parents, which is never a bad thing in my experience! They chose Whittier College for their session, because that’s where they first met ten years ago. It turned out to be an amazing place to shoot, with a variety of lovely nooks and crannies for us to play. Ruby Jane the beagle was ridiculously adorable with those ears, and her sweet energy was contagious! So much love going on in this little family, which always makes my job easier. :)
They both have the best smiles, don’t you think?
Caution: gusts of wind may lead to adorable floppy ears.
Go, Ruby, GO!
They met when Melissa started working at the Wellness Center and Brandon had to train her, so of course we had to get some portraits there too!
We wrapped things up by relaxing in the grass, enjoying the late afternoon sun. My favorite way to shoot!
Melissa and Brandon, your happiness and love for each other is inspiring. It was so much fun working with you and getting to know you and Ruby Jane. I can’t wait until it warms up so we can all go to the dog beach!
