The good news is, several of the adoptables I photographed at the shelter last weekend have already been adopted. Bad news is, they were super cute and I’m sad I can’t share them with you – but trust me, it’s for your own good. The cuteness is irresistible!
First up is Cocoa, a sweetheart chihuahua mix that was all about sitting as close to Sarah’s face as possible.
And then there’s Laverne, Cocoa’s roomie. She’s a chill little lady who loves laps and gets along really well with other dogs. And just look at that floppy ear! You guys know that’s my kryptonite.
She also loves tummy scratches. :)
Little Zoey is only six months old and is Miss Personality. Not even the skin infection she showed up with has slowed her down! It’s healing up nicely, but after her haircut you can still see a bit of the redness. But this sweet girl would never let you know it!
More floppy ears! I can’t take it!
Jigme is a Tibetan name meaning fearless, and I think this lovely lab-pointer mix lives up to it! She gets along with everyone and all the volunteers love her.
Last but not least is Yogi, Jigme’s roomie and a sweetheart of a dog. He’s a whippet-shar-pei mix (I know, I have no idea how that happened either!) who definitely has some great sighthound qualities. Okay, maybe I’m a little biased, but still you can’t go wrong with a relaxed demeanor who’s great around kids and super loyal!
Downside is, he wanted to watch everybody going by rather than look at my lens. :) And I just love doggie forehead wrinkles, I can’t help it.
In other news, I’m super thrilled to share that the photo session I donated to last weekend’s Wine Tasting and auction fundraiser brought in the largest single amount for the night! Totally unexpected! It was a fantastic event – Nikki, Sarah, her mom and I all attended and had a great time. I can’t wait to work with the family that won, they seemed lovely and are shelter volunteers too.
One last thing: if you’re in the LA area, come out and join the SBACC at the 16th Annual Wiener Nationals on July 9th at the Los Alamitos Race Track! I’ll be shooting a wedding that day, so somebody has to do me a favor and get video of those little legs running down the race track. :) It’s only $5 per person (kids are free) and the net proceeds will benefit the shelter!
