You guys, I really tried to go with something other than plant life for this month’s desktop, I really did. But I just couldn’t do it. They’re pleasing to the eye without being too distracting, have yummy colors…they just work. Plus, something about the yellow and green really says late autumn to me.
What do you think about the quote? I couldn’t agree more. Of course, there are times when you just need a down day and things are truly serious, but when it comes to the every day I believe you can choose joy. We do it all the time. We can allow the stranger who was rude on the phone to ruin our day, or we can let it go and get on with enjoying all the good things about the other 98% of our day. It’s one of the reasons I started a gratitude journal earlier this year. Just a quick one liner each night before bed, one thing I’m grateful for that day. And honestly? At this point I find it hard to only have one thing. It’s a work in progress, for sure, and I’m not always successful, but for the most part I try to be cognizant of when I’m letting something silly ruin my whole day. But of course, sometimes you just need to let yourself come home and have some chocolate. :)
Happy November, friends. I challenge you to find five things to be grateful for today, big or small. I’d really love to hear all about them in the comments!
