Instagram Love :: Winter in SoCal

They don’t call it sunny Southern California for nothin’, and this winter has been especially mild, even for us! Just a few rainy days, some cold days in December but otherwise pretty mild. And today it’s supposed to get up to 80! No complaints here, I just wish daylight savings would hurry up so we could enjoy the weather more.:)

Here’s what my iPhone has been seeing lately (I’m @ellingsenphoto on Instagram)…

  • Dante showing off our new inside welcome mat (well, it’s more of a goodbye mat and always gets this song in my head)
  • On our dam adventure
  • I tried out a local ranch market and got all of this for $4.52!
  • I was a bad, bad girl
  • Happy first birthday to Cassidy!
  • On laundry day, a fuchsia sundress + sweater tights is totally acceptable

  • It poured for hours one Saturday morning, so Dante and I snuggled under the electric blanket and watched movies on Netflix
  • Attempting to beat my friends at Settlers of Catan…not successful. But it’s a super fun game!
  • Peekaboo!
  • We had a few pea soup mornings
  • Perfect weather for a long walk with my mom and Dante
  • He makes for good migraine day company

When I’m at home on the computer, I use Webstagram to keep up with my feed. And I’m really thinking about ordering some Stickygrams – fridge magnets out of Instagrams! :)

xoxo

oooh this new layout… snazzy!

also, i am so digging that instagram shot of the foggy street.

and hasn’t the weather been so weirdly mild? even up north here. even the like 1.3 days of rain we had was so mild.

Welcome!

Welcome to the new & improved EllingsenPhoto.com! Since I’m such an avid blogger, I decided it was way past due that I combine everything into one place. I believe the appropriate word is blogsite.:)

So take a peek around, and let me know what you think! I’ve still got some tinkering to do and some galleries to update, but there’s lots of fresh blog content heading your way. I’m thrilled with how easy ProPhoto has made this transition, I can’t say enough good things about their product.

Thanks for checking out my new corner of the interwebs!

What an awesome new site! I love the colors and those big, interesting social icons. :) Saved to Feedly!

February Desktop Background

Here in Southern California I associate early spring with jasmine, one of my favorite scents. Looking back through my archives from last year, I found this in my February folder and realized that soon enough it’ll be about to pop again! My parents have a giant jasmine plant in their backyard that has really become more like a tree, and you know I’ll be stealing bunches of it for my own place.:)

I just love this quote from Will Rogers (another Southern California institution), because I think letting it’s something everybody has to tackle at least once in a while.

1280 x 1024 | 1600 x 1200 | 1680 x 1050 | 1920 x 1080 | 1920 x 1200 | 2560 x 1440

Hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend!

xoxo

P.S. Fonts are all lovely free ones that I find myself using over and over: Wisdom Script, SmallTypeWriting, Ostrich Sans, and Ribbon.

love that quote. so often mantras about that are about staying in the present instead of looking too far ahead, but i like the sentiment of this one better :)

such a gorgeous image, love the quote too

Happy Weekend!

Hope you enjoy your weekend as much as Dante enjoys sleeping in the sun. (That’s his I-just-woke-up face.)

Some good reads this week:

  • I’m now jonesing for the wee digital Minox camera after seeing what the always-amazing Rachel Devine did with it.
  • Jacqueline’s gorgeous photos of gourmet hot chocolate made me immediately question my choice of Swiss Miss instant this morning.
  • Learning my Photoshop ABCs is one of the best things I ever did for my mouse hand. Katrina over at Pugly Pixel put together the prettiest cheat sheet for them that I’ve ever seen!
  • A wonderful tutorial on how the folks over at Yellow Brick Home frame using vintage frames they thrift. It never occurred to me you could get glass cut to size!

I’ll be hard at work on a blog/website redesign (ssshhh), finding a decent pair of jeans and taking a trip to the shelter. What are your plans?

xoxo

Thanks for the shout out! :) The weekend was relaxing for me; no big trips or anything. Sometimes you just need some R&R!

Can’t wait to see your website redesign!
