SBACC Adoptables :: October

One perfectly cool and sunny afternoon last weekend, Sarah and I worked our butts off at the shelter, photographing 14 dogs in just under 3 hours! Phew! :) There were lots of new faces and I wanted to make sure we saw them all (well, except the ones still in cones from being fixed – we’re saving them for next time). Several of those have since been adopted (woot!), but here’s a some friendly faces to warm your heart. Do them a favor and spread the word, okay?

First up is Audrey, a terrier mix that reminds me of a character out of Labyrinth with those ears! Or maybe Gremlins? She’s adorably cuddly!

Barnaby hasn’t exactly had the easiest life so far, but he just needs a loving home that will fatten up those skinny bones and he’ll be just fine!

And this is Miss DeDe, a sweetheart of a shepherd mix. Aren’t her eyes amazing? She’s a bit shy, but I have a real soft spot for big dogs that like to lean on your legs for solidarity. :)

Here’s Eagle Rider, a lab mix that’s just a year old! He preferred to check out the people walking behind me, but who can blame him for being more interested in a moving target? :)

And then Maggie is just the prettiest little min pin I think I’ve ever seen! She’s just so…graceful.

Mister Ollie is a flat-coated retriever mix, and apparently loves cats! Who would’ve guessed? I love that name for a dog, I hope whoever takes him home keeps it!

Next up is Pixie, and I have to state that in all fairness, Sarah and I are super biased because of how much Pixie looks like Sarah’s dog Anja. But honestly, this Rhodesian Ridgeback mix is such a sweetheart! And you’d never know that she only has one eye! We photographed her up in one of the open play areas and she was all excited from playing with Riley (see below), hence the lolling tongue. :)

Love that you can clearly see the ridge:

Here’s her playmate Riley, who kind of looks like a blown up Toto. Very playful and Mister Friendly!

(He was a little muddy from playtime in the yard.) :)

Sid here may have some grey on his muzzle, but the vet thinks he’s only three or four. So you’ll have this sweet boy in your family for a long time! He wound up at the shelter as a result of an unhappy divorce, so hopefully a very nice family will take him home and make him forget all about it.

Snowy is the prettiest little American Eskimo, and he was so happy just getting snuggled by Sarah. :)

Last but certainly not least is Stevie, a lap-loving little chihuahua/min pin mix. I saw this guy out and about at the Wag N’ Walk and he was great with the crowds!

And there you have it, friends! Hopefully there’s someone out there you know that has room for one of these deserving pups. Please spread the word if you can!

I’ll be out of town the rest of the week for work, so I’ll see you kids back here next week!
